Since joining Valens in March 2018, Arani has been providing casework support to the solicitors and other legal staff at the firm on property-related cases and transactions, including residential and commercial conveyancing, landlord and tenant, and property litigation. Arani was appointed a Trainee Solicitor in December 2020.
Being at a full service civil law firm has also enabled Arani to gain practical experience in many other legal disciplines, including commercial agreements and transactions, intellectual property (including trade mark applications), and private client and family cases.
Arani has a Bachelors in Arts degree in Classical Studies from King’s College, London. During her time at King’s College, Arani participated in a number of volunteering initiatives and was recognized for her work for the King’s College London Opportunity International Society, a charity which seeks to empower local entrepreneurs in Third World Countries. It was during her Classical Studies and learning about the formation of the democratic society, and the ideas and philosophies surrounding law, that Arani decided upon a career in law. Arani’s ambition is to qualify as a solicitor and specialise in commercial law.
Whilst working full time at Valens, Arani successfully completed the Legal Practice Course at BPP Law School, which follows on from her having completed her Graduate Diploma in Law in 2017.
At BBP Law School, Arani has co-founded and acted as Vice President for the Chancery in Context Society and contributed articles to the BPP Commercial Awareness Society Newsletter ‘In The Know’.
Prior to working at Valens, Arani qualified as a Gateway Assessor at the Rickmansworth Citizens Advice Bureau and regularly assisted members of the public with their property, employment and family issues.
Arani has a keen interest in ancient history and enjoys visiting exhibitions and watching Greek and Roman plays. She also has an appreciation of art and, in particular, the Neo-Classical period. She enjoys watching cooking programmes, and aspires to developing her own cooking skills rather than just watching the experts on television!
