Chander is a civil and commercial solicitor, and the Principal and Founder of Valens Solicitors.
Chander has significant experience in acting for businesses, individuals, and professional appointers across a range of legal disciplines.
During his legal career, Chander has worked at a number of leading City and international law firms, including a ‘Magic Circle’ firm.
After qualifying as a solicitor in 2003, Chander worked for a well established commercial law firm based in the West End of London, before founding Valens in 2009. Just over a decade later, Valens has flourished into a full-service law firm with two offices, seven different legal departments, and a highly focused and committed legal team.
Chander has developed in-depth expertise in both contentious and non-contentious legal disciplines. This has enabled him to provide clients with a more rounded and risk-based approach, particularly in transactional work (including the sale and acquisitions of businesses and shareholdings); commercial and corporate finance; and litigation especially relating to assets and property. Particular areas of his specialism include legal aspects involving secured corporate and commercial lending, where Chander regularly acts for lenders and borrowers in transactions, recovery proceedings, and in an advisory capacity.
Professional appointers include liquidators, administrators, trustees, accountants, as well as other lawyers.
Chander also undertakes advocacy in the High Court, County Court, and the Companies Court.
In addition to managing the firm, Chander heads up the Corporate and Commercial, Dispute Resolution, and Commercial Property departments at Valens.
Chander is a highly approachable solicitor, incredibly conscientious, and is committed to creating long-lasting professional relationships with his clients. He is extremely good at what he does and meticulous in his work, paying very close attention to detail. He has an uncanny ability to clinically dissect complex legal issues and adopts a creative and passionate approach to all his work.
Chander holds a Masters in Law (LLM) degree in Business Law from De Montfort University.
Outside of the office, Chander enjoys cycling, painting, and spending time with his family.
